Since its creation in 1991, CEFRES has grown into a large community of researchers across Europe. To maintain this unique network, the CEFRES Alumni Association was founded on March 3, 2025, and was officially registered in the Czech Register of Associations on May 21 of that year.
Serving as a bridge between several generations of researchers, the association has also made it its mission to disseminate the latest research developments in the humanities and social sciences in France and Central Europe and to support the scientific activities of its members. With more than 85 members, the CEFRES Alumni Association has established its headquarters at the Institute of Czech Literature of the Academy of Sciences, which also houses CEFRES.
The association was officially launched on December 3, 2025, during its general assembly, followed by a reception at the French Embassy. This occasion for discussion, fellowship, and reunions featured a keynote address by Ronan Hervouet, professor of sociology at the University of Bordeaux and a former member of CEFRES.
