Research Area 3 – Objects, Traces, Mapping: Everyday Experience of Spaces
My name is Anton Hauk, and I am a PhD in History, an anthropologist, and an artist from Kyiv, Ukraine.
My early research was dedicated to aspects of the representation of sacred space in ancient Slavic and pagan cultures. Upon completion of my doctoral studies, I assumed the roles of an autonomous researcher and consultant in the domains of anthropology and culture. Concurrently, I commenced my artistic pursuits, with a primary focus on the emerging forms of digital art and the synergistic potential of new media. I have also been invited as a guest lecturer at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv Institute of Business and Technology, and IZOLYATSIA. Platform for Cultural Initiatives.
In recent years, my primary area of scientific interest has been gaming practices and their evolution in a cultural context. After conducting research on video games as an art form, I aimed to expand the scope of my investigations to include the study of toys from the 90s in the post-Soviet region.
As integrated gaming media continues to gain importance in modern culture, I am dedicating my research efforts to their study. Specifically, my ongoing research focuses on Gaming Practices in a Geopolitical Context, with particular attention to their relevance in the context of wars.
