Iwona Janicka is Research Team Leader at the Center for Environmental and Technology Ethics – Prague (CETE-P) and Senior Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of the Czech Academy of Sciences. She works in contemporary environmental and political philosophy. Her CEFRES project entitled “Living on Earth: Philosophies of Habitability in the 21st Century” contributes to axis 2: Norms and transgressions. As part of her high school studies, she majored in Diplomatic Services. For more than 10 years, including two years of professional experience in France, she has been working in assistance and coordination positions. She has acquired her professional skills mainly in companies in the private sector.
She has been working at CEFRES since October 2024.
Marek Kettner studied Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague, where he also taught courses in contemporary philosophy during his doctorate. He focuses on the thinkers of the so-called Frankfurt School, such as Walter Benjamin and Theodor W. Adorno, as well as on contemporary French thought, especially on the philosophy of Georges Didi-Huberman and Gilles Deleuze. He has studied at Université III in Lille and at the Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen (IWM) in Vienna and, in addition to his research work, has also worked extensively on Czech translations from French and German. He is currently working on a translation of Images In Spite of All by Georges Didi-Huberman.
He has been a member of CEFRES since September 2024 and his work consists in translations and communication.
