IMéRA calls for application for residence schemes in 2017-2018.  9 individual calls (1 general call, 8 specific calls with partner institutions) and 1 team call are available.

Eligibility conditions vary according to each call and are specified in the above link.
The general call is open to scientists with university or researcher position in a foreign institution, and artists residing outside France. It is not targeted.
Specific calls are open only to scientists with university or researcher position in a foreign institution, and cover research disciplines or themes.

Candidates must submit their applications exclusively on IMéRA’s website. Applications must include:  CV with a list of publications (and/or creations/exhibitions for artists), presentation of research project (maximum 5 pages) with selective bibliography, one to three letters of recommendation for junior researchers, and additional documents specific to each call.

Josef Dobrovský fellowships of the Czech Academy of Sciences

The objective of the fellowship is to support “Czech studies” in both national and territorial delimitation by means of the financing of short-term study stays of foreign researchers at the Institutes of the CAS. The fellowship is intended for young researchers (usually aged up to 35) who need to study the Czech historical, cultural, language, geographic or natural characteristics in the Czech Republic.

The applications for the Josef Dobrovský Fellowship are filed by the directors of CAS Institutes following its discussion in the Institute’s council and with its recommendation. The deadlines for submitting the applications are 28 February and 31 August of each year. The International Selection at Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris)

The Ecole normale supérieure of Paris holds a prestigious place within the best universities worldwide. Students are granted stimulating surroundings and a diversified offer for many formations.

International Selection is a great opportunity for excellent foreign students to join French university excellence. They prepare a Master and ENS Diploma. A personal tutor and a scholarship (1,000 euros/month for 2 or 3 years) give them the best conditions of studies.

Candidates receive a letter of acceptance (or refusal) in March 2016. Selected applicants are invited to take part in an exam session in July in Paris. After a series of written and oral tests, final results are proclaimed. The academic year starts at the begining of September 2016.

Eligibility criteria
  • Candidates must not be after their 25th birthday on December 1st.
  • Candidates must not have applied to the International Selection before.
  • Candidates must not have lived in France more than 10 months during the academic year of the selection (September 1st – August 31st) nor the previous year.
  • Candidates must justify at least one year of undergraduate studies awarded by a foreign university during the calendar year preceding the start of applications.
  • Candidates justify at least two years of undergraduate studies in a foreign university, on the 1st of September following admission.

Calls for fellowship applications at CEU IAS (Institute for Advanced Study)

The CEU Institute for Advanced Study (CEU IAS) is pleased to invite applications for its fellowships for the academic year 2015/16.

Application deadline for all three fellowships: 26 October, 2015.

Calls are open for the fellowships listed below. Applications to more than one of the programs is possible but the application process and the requirements are not the same.

SENIOR AND JUNIOR CORE FELLOWSHIPS – 12-15 awards each year

HUMANITIES INITIATIVE JUNIOR FELLOWSHIPS – 2 awards each year

THYSSEN@CEU IAS FELLOWSHIPS – 2 awards each year

CEU IAS fellows typically spend 6-10 months in Budapest and pursue their own research in the intellectual community of the other fellows, the university and the lively city of Budapest.

CEU IAS Fellowships are highly competitive and will be awarded on the basis of scholarly excellence.

Hosting Program “Research in Paris”

Since 2003, the City of Paris has been proposing hosting programs in research institutes situated in Paris. The conditions of applications were modified in 2015 and post-doctoral researchers only are eligible now. The applications are to be sent by the hosting Parisian laboratory itself.
