Bernhard Struck je reader/associate professor moderních evropských dějin na Univerzitě St Andrews a zakládajícím ředitelem Institutu pro nadnárodní a prostorovou historii (Institute for Transnational & Spatial History). Ve svém výzkumu se zaměřuje na německou, francouzskou a polskou historii, historii cestování, pohraniční oblasti, kartografii a prostor. Je autorem knih Nicht West – nicht Ost. Frankreich und Polen in der Wahrnehmung deutscher Reisender, 1750-1850 (2006)a Revolution, Krieg und Verflechtung. Deutsch-Französische Geschichte 1789-1815 (2008, společně s Claire Gantet). Dále je spoluautorem knihy Shaping the Transnational Sphere. Experts, Networks and Issues from the 1840s to the 1930s (2015).
