CFA | CEFRES Residential Fellowships for Ukrainian Researchers in Humanities and Social Sciences
The French Center for Research in Humanities and Social Sciences (CEFRES) in close collaboration with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE), the French National Research Center (CNRS SHS) as well as the Institute of Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ÚSD AV ČR) and Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences (ÚDU AV ČR) launches a program of residential fellowships in Prague dedicated to Ukrainian researchers in humanities and social sciences.
Duration: from 14 days to 2 months at CEFRES in Prague Suggested periods: March 1-May 31 or September 1-December 15, 2024 Funding: 2 000 € / month (prorata temporis for shorter periods) Housing: Offered by CEFRES in collaboration with the Czech Academy of Sciences’ Institutes of Contemporary History and of Art History Deadline for submission of applications: January 31, 2024
Objective of the program
The goal of the new program is to offer the recipients of the non-residential fellowships comfortable conditions for developing research goal, accessing resources (archives, libraries, scientific events…) in Prague and strengthening collaborations and contacts developed in the frame of the nonresidential fellowships program.
The Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV), the French Research Center in Humanities and Social Sciences in Prague (CEFRES) and the Institute for Humanities & Social Sciences of the French National Research Center (CNRS HSS) are launching the first call for applications for the TANDEM incubator program dedicated to researchers from the Slovak Academy of Sciences and CNRS.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
The Tandem CNRS-SAV program endeavors excellency in social sciences and humanities by bringing together Slovak and French colleagues to intensify scientific collaboration between our countries in the frame of European Research Area. It benefits from the experience of two Czech-French Tandem program schemes at CEFRES, whose former members have obtained two ERC grants, incl. the BOAR project. Séjour de recherche et d’enseignement au Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales (CEFRES) de Prague
Dans le cadre de la convention de coopération entre l’EHESS et le CEFRES, qui inclut également l’Université Charles de Prague ainsi que l’Académie des sciences de la République tchèque, et pour intensifier les échanges scientifiques franco-tchèques dans le domaine des sciences humaines et sociales, le CEFRES propose l’accueil d’un/e enseignant/e-chercheur/se de l’EHESS pour deux à quatre semaines durant l’année 2025.

The Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales is actively seeking interns for periods of one to several months. It offers the exceptional opportunity to work as part of a team of researchers in a laboratory based in Prague, under the joint supervision of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), and liaising with researchers based in the four countries of the Visegrád group.
Internships may be scientific in nature (fieldwork or consulting archives as part of a research project, joining the centre’s scientific network, etc.) or administrative. In both cases, the aim of the proposed internship is to contribute to CEFRES’ scientific development missions and to provide support for the running of the research centre in collaboration with its team.
