Axe 2 : Normes et transgressions

Ruslana Koziienko est anthropologue sociale et doctorante au Département de sociologie et d’anthropologie sociale à l’Université d’Europe centrale (CEU, Vienne). Ses recherches explorent les expériences des hommes ukrainiens, demeurés civils et affectés par une mobilité limitée — vers l’extérieur de l’Ukraine, en raison des interdictions de voyager, et à l’intérieur, en raison des processus de mobilisation — par la loi martiale, introduite à la suite de l’invasion à grande échelle de l’Ukraine par la Russie en 2022. Le projet se concentre sur trois thèmes interconnectés. Premièrement, il examine les stratégies d’adaptation que les civils masculins développent dans des conditions de mobilité restreinte afin de subvenir à leurs besoins et à ceux de leur famille. Deuxièmement, cette recherche analyse les transformations des masculinités et du sens de la virilité que les civils masculins ont éprouvé, en particulier à la lumière de la masculinité du défenseur occupant la position hégémonique, ainsi que, plus largement, comment la hiérarchie des masculinités dans la société ukrainienne a été remodelée au cours de plus de trois années de guerre totale. Le troisième thème (et cadre général) du projet explore les transformations et les contestations autour de la citoyenneté et qu’est ce ça veut signifie d’être un “bon citoyen” en temps de guerre. Finalement, la recherche observe aussi les dynamiques, les processus et les régimes sur différents niveaux —national, régional et international — qui ont façonné le moment historique quand les interdictions de voyager en temps de guerre en raison du sexe sont devenues possibles et soutenues, ou au moins tolérées, par beaucoup de personnes au départ. Parmi ceux-ci figurent l’ordre national du genre, le régime européen des migrations, le régime humanitaire international, et la tension entre la souveraineté étatique et le régime international des droits de l’homme.

Méthodologiquement, cette recherche repose sur des entretiens approfondis semi-structurés tenus en personne et en ligne avec des civils masculins ukrainiens, et parfois avec leurs partenaires, en Ukraine et dans neuf pays (Allemagne, Autriche, Canada,  Espagne, Pologne, Portugal, République tchèque, Royaume-Uni, Slovaquie). Les participants incluent des hommes qui sont restés en Ukraine, ceux qui ont quitté le pays et demeurent aujourd’hui à l’étranger, ceux qui l’ont quitté puis qui sont revenus et ceux qui étaient déjà à l’étranger au moment de l’invasion. Cette recherche est complétée par une analyse des transformations de la législation et des régulations gouvernant le régime du passage des frontières et des processus de mobilisation, des supports médiatiques et des éléments d’ethnographie numérique.
