On the occasion of Ruth Zylberman’s The Trial. Prague, 1952 documentary devoted to the Slanský trial premiere, at the French Institute in Prague, CEFRES proposes an open debate on history and memory, testimony and transmission, bringing together the film director, historians and sociologists Muriel Blaive, Kateřina Čapková and Françoise Mayer, and the public.

Hana Fořtová presents her Czech translation of Montesquieu’s The Spirit of the laws at the CEFRES library, on the occasion of the publication of the last volume by Oikoymenh publisher.
The first scientific edition of this major text of the European thought gives way for the Czech audience to Montesquieu’s notes and to a contemporary critical commentary .

CEFRES is thrilled to welcome the team of the French radio show devoted to history La Fabrique de l’Histoire for a series of four shows (to be broadcast in December 2017 on France Culture radio station) dedicated to East-Central Europe. A roundtable led by radio host Emmanuel Laurentin gathering four historians will tackle East-Central Europe relationship to nostalgia, the past and the future of Europe. The roundtable will follow a workshop on “The Political Uses of the Past and Collective Memory in Central Europe”.
Both the workshop and the roundtable of the Fabrique de l’Histoire are open to the public!
