Honorata Skroka est une chercheuse en littérature, spécialisée dans l’étude des avant-gardes et des archives. Son doctorat s’intitule « Les archives de l’Avant-Garde. Interpretation de la correspondance de Franciszka et Stefan Themerson » et a été délivré par l’université de Varsovie Ce projet a aussi été financé par le Centre national des sciences de Pologne (référence: 2023/49/N/HS2/00284) et visait à explorer l’art et les archives des Themerson qui se classent parmi les artistes avant-gardistes les plus importants du 20ème siècle. Bien que la production artistique du couple Themerson soit reconnue internationalement, leurs archives stockées à la Bibliothèque nationale de Pologne restaient inexplorés. Ce projet de recherche utilisa les archives des deux artistes de manière systématique et utilisa ces dernières comme étude de cas afin de réfléchir de manière plus générale sur le sens de la nature des archives d’avant-garde.

Honorata a rejoint le CEFRES en octobre 2024 en tant que chercheuse post-doctorante grâce à un cofinancement CEFRES-Université Charles. Son projet, intitulé « Archives d’avant-garde en Europe centrale et orientale. Pratiques expérimentales de l’auto-historicisation au 20ème siècle » s’inscrit dans la continuité de ses recherches susmentionnées et vise à enquêter sur le terme « archives d’avant-garde » en Europe centrale et orientale. Depuis les années 1910, les mouvements d’avant-garde proclament la nécéssité de rompre avec le passé, les habitudes et les institutions traditionnelles telles que les musées, les bibliothèques ou les archives. Cependant, de nombreux mémoires, auto-archives et autres formes d’auto-documentation montrent que les auteurs expérimentaux pratiquèrent des formes d’auto-institutionnalisation et d’auto-historicisation en lieu et place de la destruction annoncée des institutions. Jusqu’ici, les chercheurs ont avant tout discuté des archives des avant-gardes depuis la perspective de l’art occidental, qui s’est développé dans des contextes sociaux, culturels et politiques différents des avant-gardes d’Europe centrale et orientale. Afin de faire avancer l’état de l’art, dans son projet de post-doctorat, Honorata va compare et mettre en contraste différents exemples d’archives expérimentales tchèques, hongroises et polonaises des années 1960′ et 1970′.
